HEADLINING NEWS - Lil Kim!
Female MC rapper Lil Kim was found guilty on the charge of perjury. Lil Kim, real name Kimberley Jones, now faces upto 20 years in jail after a Manhattan jury took just 2 days to decide she blatantly lied about the now notorious 2001 shooting outside Hot 97 radio station.
Lil’ Kim’s high-profile legal case penetrated through the walls of Hip-Hop and emptied into the mainstream - and she was declared guilty.
Lil’ Kim’s fate on perjury charges was deliberated over a mere two days by a Manhattan jury who decided that
Kim issued a statement saying: "I am disappointed in the verdict. However I was acquitted of the most serious charge, obstruction of justice. Throughout my life, I have always lived with adversity and will continue to have faith and do good for my family, friends and fans."
Members of her entourage, Damion Butler and Suif Jackson, came forward and also admitted to their own participation in the incident.

.Turn on any TV and it won't be long before you see an advert inspired by the world of hip hop, and none are more evident than McDonalds. But it seems the fast food giant are about to go one-step further, and are in talks with FUBU, Sean John and Rocawear about designs for a new uniform. Music mogul Steve stout said: “McDonald’s has evolved and become a lifestyle brand. Since it now is relevant to our lifestyle, let’s go one step further and make its employees relevant to our lifestyle as well.”
Other designers being considered for the uniform revamp include American Apparel, American Eagle Outfitters and Tommy Hilfiger.
In recent months, McDonald’s offered royalties to rappers who include the “Big Mac” sandwich in a hit record. The company also hired various rapper’s to perform at certain offline events and more recently, used the Kanye West produced single “Move Around” by Chicago rapper Bump J in a commercial.

Luther Vandross passes away
R&B crooner Luther Vandross passed away today (July 1), due to complications brought on by a stroke the singer suffered in 2003. The singer suffered a serious stroke in April of 2003, shortly before his fifteenth album, Dance With My Father hit stores.
During the period following his stroke, Vandross, 54, lapsed into a coma for roughly six weeks. He started to show signs of recovery, with his condition improving slightly.Vandross was checked out of New York's Weill Cornell Medical Center and moved into a private facility in New Jersey.
His final studio album, Dance With My Father, hit stores in June of 2003 while Vandross was hospitalized.
A new album is being produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and features new interpretations of Vandross' classics by Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Wyclef Jean and others.
Vandross, born April 20, 1951, sold over 25 million records and influenced a whole generation of singers

Fresh Biggie Trial
On Wednesday, a federal judged declared a mistrial in the case of the wrongful death of the Notorious B.I.G, which had seen only three trial dates. Presiding Judge Florence-Marie Cooper made the ruling based on the view that the defendant Los Angeles Police Department had withheld crucial evident.
The finding came after an unnamed person tipped the court to a significant amount of evidence that had not been given to lawyers of the estate. Biggie (real name Christopher Wallace) was slain in 1997 and the family maintains that former LAPD officer David Mack helped kill the rapper using the resources of the department. They maintain that Mack worked in cahoots with Death Row Records founder Suge Knight, who had a feud with B.I.G. and Sean “Puffy” Combs.
Testimony began on June 21 but the anonymous tip disrupted the case. The estate for The Notorious B.I.G. told Reuters that they intend to re-file the suit with additional defendants like Mack's former partner Rafael Perez.

Nephew of Jay-Z dies
Colleek D. Luckie, the nephew of Def Jam President Jay-Z, has died tragically from injuries sustained in a RTA occurring on Route 220 in Pennsylvania.
According to sources, Colleek was traveling with friend Roscoe G. Neely, 20, of Brooklyn, New York on Tuesday (June 28) when Neely-who was driving-drifted across the centerline and struck a tractor-trailer head-on.
After the collision, the vehicle-a 2005 Chrysler 300-purportedly struck a telephone pole and traveled some 300 feet through a field. Sadly, Colleek, who was wearing a seat belt, was killed. Neely sustained a minor injury and was taken to a local hospital.
Through the years, Jay-Z has made numerous references to his nephew in his songs like "Heart of the City (Ain't No Love)" from The Blueprint. It's been reported that the vehicle involved in the accident was purchased by Jay for the 18 year-old Colleek as a graduation present.

Eve has hired a private investigator to find out who leaked a 30 second clip of her having sex with ex-boyfriend, producer Stevie J.
Representatives for Eve, who was just 21 years-old when the video tape was recorded, said she was devastated and that couldn’t figure out how the tape found its way to a general viewing audience.
Stevie J., who is featured in the tape pleasuring Eve with sex toys, has already denied being the culprit.
