Triple Darkness on CWAL?
Triple Darkness is negotiating with Traxster for a possible joint venture release between CWAL and Straight Jacket Records for the trio's latest album Last Dayz. Close to half of the new project is produced by Traxster with the other half handled by Dawreck. With this deal, the Last Dayz album could be moved to a fall/winter '05 release date. A healthy relationship has always been evident between the two labels. “Trax like the fourth member of Triple Darkness and shit,” says Dawreck. In 1997, the group came out with their Cold Blooded EP which had Legendary production on the title track. Since then, CWAL has mixed with Triple Darkness on scattered tracks such as Crook County Remix (CWAL Mega Mix), Peep Game (WhiteFolks Underground Classics) and Fie It Up (WhiteFolks CWAL debut album). Currently, Triple Darkness has been recording in the studio with fellow DramaWard members Snypaz and Heartstoppa. Jilla finally Upgrades
Indiana native Ric Jilla has secured financing for his very own Upgrade Music label. He recently took a trip to Miami, Florida as a means to promote his forthcoming Legion Records release as well as his separate Upgrade Music Venture. Jilla's last album Upgrade caused some tension for Gary, Indiana rap group MCGz. Apparently the commotion derives from a beat used both on Jill's album and MCGz latest album Second Coming. Hit of the MCGz explained his side of the situation recently to ChiBangin.com in his interview on ChiBangin.com Presents “Behind The Scenes” DVD. Ric Jilla currently stays busy working on his own upcoming project, while still dropping verses and appearances with fellow Legion label mates Do Or Die. Ric Jilla has been a long-standing respected rapper through Indiana and Chicago, but is hoping to breakout nationwide with the release of his new album. |

Belo Goes Solo
Belo of Do or Die has been given a solo deal from label Legion Records. The label, which also distribute the groups current albums, have released little detail at the moment but are keen to re-iterate that in no way does this mean a split from group members N.A.R.D. and AK-47. Rumours of a Belo solo album have been floating around for years now as fans were desparate to hear more the Chicagoan's unmistakable style that has helped Do or Die to gold status in the past. |
